Judging
We want to hear the ideas from you and your school or group. You can decide
what you think you need to tell us.
To have your entry accepted you must:
- Fill in a separate form for each Active Idea you enter.
- Complete all sections of the entry form that apply.
- Complete the entry form within 500 words.
- Send the entry form online by 23 May.
You can add extra information as a short PowerPoint presentation or Word
document. Just remember that your presentation can’t be more than
five slides and 5mb
How will your entry be judged?
It will help the judges to decide which schools and groups should become
regional consultants and be invited to the regional Active Conferences if
you:
- Tell us what your school or group thinks of the Active Ideas very simply
and clearly.
- Explain which of the Active Ideas your school or group likes best and
why
- Tell us how what your school or group thinks is missing or needs some
help with and how you think one of the AK ideas could help with that.
- Talk about how your school or group could adapt the idea to best help.
If you decide the to enter the Your Active Kids idea…
- State whether you think a Music project, Environmental project or something
completely different, could be what your school or group is looking for. If
you are suggesting a whole new idea, make sure to give as much detail as you
can, so we can fully understand your idea.
Whichever category you enter
- Make your writing interesting and engaging.
- Tell us who took part in your consultation, and how the consultation was
organised. Try to include as many people as you can. Ask students, teachers,
group leaders and adults from outside school or group to help you to come
up with the best solutions then organise your project ideas and tell us all
about it. e.g. 'School council reps gave questionnaires to everyone', ‘We
asked our local Climbing Club to come to one of our meetings', or ‘We
sent an email to the manager of our local supermarket to find out more about
his/her job'
There are two rounds of judging:
Representatives from 90 schools and groups will be invited to attend one
of six regional Active Conferences as regional consultants.
At the regional Active Conferences, judges will select three schools and groups from each of the six regions to go forward to the national conference as national consultants.
Who are the judges?
The Active Kids Get Talking judges are members of a panel of education and other experts. The panel was set up by Sainsbury’s for the purpose of judging the Active Kids Get Talking entries.
